I was very excited when my good friend (and highly successful literary agent) Juliet Mushens launch her own company last month under the name Mushens Entertainment, which as she excitedly pointed out is abbreviated to ME.
Juliet wear’s her original black ‘Me’ ring everyday and loves the story and meaning behind my brand.
I call ‘Me’ pieces wearable reminders.
I want the pieces to be worn everyday. To be comfortable, to stand out and start conversations with yourself and others around you.
Or if you are feeling a little fragile wear them as subtly as you would like, face ‘Me’ inward knowing that you will always be there for yourself.
Wearing ‘Me’ ring and seeing the piece everyday is a reminder, you will always be there for yourself, to take time for yourself, love yourself and self care.
I believe strongly in looking after yourself. In turn enabling you to be your best self and make strong connections with others round you.
It all starts with you, this is ‘Me’.
‘Where did ME come from?
My assistant, Liza DeBlock was the one who came up with it. Every day I wear a ‘me’ ring, designed by my talented friend Zoe Sherwood, and that sparked the idea. I often say that authors don’t just compete with other books, they compete with all forms of entertainment be that Netflix, the cinema, social media, or gaming. I wanted a name which reflected that and which also reflected the forms our clients’ work exists in: whether that’s Very British Problems’ 4M-follower twitter feed or Nick Clark Windo’s THE FEED airing on Amazon as a ten-part series. I also feel strongly that the representation writers can expect from me is very personal, and very tailored depending on the person – hence ME!’

Juliet has a eye for talent, representing writers such as Jessie Burton, Jack Guinness and Richard Osman. See the full listing here.
Some of their work has been adapted into BBC series and Hollywood films. Juliet strives for the best of the best in everything she does and those she works with.
I always knew Juliet would have her own company one day, I am proud and honoured to help inspire it.
I for one look forward to Mushens entertaining us all in the future!
